Boys & Girls Club of Vista is looking for volunteers for their 2025 Gilligan's Gala! Volunteer opportunities include the following: SAT 02.15.25 10a-1p @ BGC Vista - Tropical Decor Prep and Centerpiece Prep; WED 02.19.25 4p-6p @ BGC Vista - Gala Registration and Silent Auction Close Out Training; SAT 02.22.25 10a-1p @ BGC Vista - Gala Registration and Silent Auction Close Out Training; WED 02.26.25 4p-6p @ BGC Vista - Finalize items as packages to be sold at silent auction and prep baskets and finalize packing boxes to ease gala day of set up; FRI 02.28.25 - 8 volunteers 2p-5p @ BGC Vista and Westin - Meet at BGC Vista Main Clubhouse to load vans, follow to the Westin to help offload into the storage room at the Westin in preparation for event on 03.01.2025; SAT 03.01.25 - All Shifts at the Westin in Carlsbad; Shift #1 - 10:00a-1:00p - SET UP (15 Volunteers) - Move all items from storage area to appropriate area of venue, Ballroom - centerpieces, awards, decor, etc., Foyer/ Cardiff Room - silent auction items, displays, bid sheets, etc., Registration - laptops, pens, chargers, tablets, programs, contact info sheets, etc., Wine Wall - structure, wine bottles, table cloths, etc.; Shift #2 - 12:30p-3:30p - CONTINUE SETUP (15 Volunteers) - Take over for Volunteers in Shift #1 and complete set up at the below areas: Ballroom - centerpieces, awards, decor, etc., Foyer/ Cardiff Room - silent auction items, displays, bid sheets, etc., Registration - laptops, pens, chargers, tablets, programs, contact info sheets, etc., Wine Wall - structure, wine bottles, table cloths, etc.; Shift #3 - 3:30pm-6:45pm – 12 Volunteers TOTAL - 6 volunteers @ registration, Registration Refresher and logging into accounts, 2 volunteers @ Wine Wall, 4 volunteers @ circulating silent auction to offer support and insight about the organization along with raffle tickets; Shift #4 - 5:30p-8:30p (20 Volunteers) - Silent Auction Close Out (6 volunteers), Gather winning items for each bid number for ease check out, Live Auction/Paddle Raise Tracking (14 volunteers), Track who's raising their paddle at two tables during the live auction and the paddle raise to ensure no one is counting in error and that no one is going unnoticed; Shift #5 - 8:00p-11:00p (10 volunteers) - Close out Live Auction/Paddle Raise, Compile lists to ensure there's no duplicates or missed live auction /paddle raises, Tear Down/Load Vans; Shift #6 - 9:30p-12:00a (8 volunteers) - Tear Down/Load Vans. Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation is looking for volunteers! Spend a beautiful day of field work beside the Agua Hedionda Lagoon helping restore our Carlsbad trails. We suggest wearing long pants, comfortable shoes, and clothing you don't mind getting dirty. Please bring sunscreen, a hat, and water. The scope of work varies depending on the season and current trail conditions. Projects include native planting, habitat restoration, building and installing oyster wattles, invasive species removal, brushing and trail maintenance, importing and hauling erosion control structure material, graffiti and trash removal, and trail sinkhole repairs. to check all our events on signup genius for a variety of dates and times available to volunteer. Junior Achievement of San Diego County is looking for volunteers! Volunteer at JA BizTown with Naranca Elementary on March 6th from 8:30am-2:00pm. Location address: 4756 Mission Gorge Pl, San Diego, CA 92120. Volunteers will support 5th Grade students through a simulated economy at the McGrath Family JA BizTown where students learn about jobs, money, and how to run businesses. American Red Cross of San Diego is looking for volunteers! The American Red Cross of San Diego County's National Sound the Alarm event is Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 8AM until 2PM in Oceanside. Please join the American Red Cross and Oceanside Fire to test and install free smoke alarms and provide home fire and wildfire safety information for the residents. We'll be going door-to-door to multiple mobile home parks in Oceanside and making the community safer. We have a lot of homes to visit, so we would love your help! to look for the Sound the Alarm event on April 5th and sign up to volunteer. Poinsettia Elementary School is short on campus monitors to cover the recess and lunch periods as listed: 9:55-10:15am, 10:15-10:35am, 11:20am-12:05pm, 12:05-12:50pm. The volunteers will be outside on the blacktop and supervise students while they are having a snack and lunch then go play in the playground structure, blacktop and field.  Volunteers must make sure students don't have "food fights" at the lunch tables, that they play safely on the playground structure and out in the field.  We currently have 3 campus monitors, but we can always use another "pair of eyes". Ivey Ranch Park Association, located off Rancho Del Oro in Oceanside, is seeking volunteers for in-person service opportunities. We have opportunities available during the week and on weekends. Service Projects volunteers assist outdoors with painting, landscaping, gardening, small repairs etc. These one-time volunteer opportunities are ongoing and can be organized for large groups as well. Operation HOPE-North County is looking for volunteers to host a Dry goods food drive: This can be done as a group or individually. Date and times can be flexible, you will work within your community, friends and family to collect pasta, rice, beans, etc. to make a one-time drop off at Operation HOPE-North County.
