Welcome to 美姬社区鈥檚 IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility) website focused on providing resources and information to our campus community. This website is dedicated to providing information on the Office of IDEA, 美姬社区 IDEA initiatives, as well as programming and activities centered on inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility.
As we navigate times of political uncertainty and change, many of us, especially those who identify with historically and currently marginalized communities, are experiencing anxiety and concern about what the future may hold and the impact of potential policy shifts on our lives, our families, the college, and the broader educational landscape. 美姬社区 remains committed to upholding the core values outlined in our , , for employees, and for students.
Please utilize the links on this website for information on supports for 美姬社区鈥檚 disproportionately impacted student populations and our work centered in equity. The below resources are regularly updated to provide information on populations specifically impacted by recent events and legislation.

美姬社区 Commitment Statement
美姬社区 is committed to creating a racially just campus climate. Individuals and their diverse cultures and identities are welcomed, nurtured, and validated. 美姬社区 College takes institutional responsibility for closing the equity gap for disproportionately-impacted populations including Latinx and Chicanx communities, Black and African American communities, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities, Native American communities, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer/questioning, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) communities, veteran communities, former foster youth, adult students, and students from low socioeconomic statuses. 美姬社区 will continue to serve all constituents with values rooted in equity, diversity, inclusion, and community.
美姬社区 Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Statement (BP 3400)
美姬社区 is committed to providing a strong, supportive, and authentic environment where difference is valued, respected, encouraged, and honored; where all faculty, staff, and students experience a sense of belonging and the freedom to express themselves; and where their experiences are recognized and valued.
美姬社区 strives to be a model for equity and inclusion. The college is committed to providing opportunities for engagement both across the campus and within the communities the college serves. The college seeks to remove barriers to learning, participation, and success, with a focus on changing procedures and practices that disproportionately affect certain groups.
美姬社区 Is A Proud Hispanic-Serving Institution
In 2013, 美姬社区 received the designation of Hispanic Serving Institution. This significant recognition acknowledges our institution's continuous efforts to support the academic performance and unique needs of Latinx students, many of whom are attending college for the first time or are first-generation. Approximately 38% of 美姬社区's students and 26% of its staff are Latinx as of the fall of 2021.
The purpose of this website is to provide the 美姬社区 community with resources around inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA). It is a living and organic site that grows as our work around IDEA grows at the campus.
