The California Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program is a food and nutrition program
for growing families. The program provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support,
benefits to buy healthy foods, and referrals to health care and other community services.
SUN Bucks, also known as Summer EBT (S-EBT), is a new program to help families buy
food for their school-aged children during the summer. Families will get $120 for
each eligible child to buy groceries during the summer. Some families will qualify
automatically if they receive CalFresh, CalWORKS, Medi-Cal OR are approved for free
or reduced price meals from a National School Lunch Program certified for free meals.
SUN bucks cards will be mailed out starting in June and families have 122 days from
when the card is issued to use their food benefits and until August 31st to become
eligible for the program. .
Head Start (Childcare & Preschool)
Head Start, Early Head Start and State Preschool programs deliver national school
readiness programs at no cost to eligible families. Eligibility is based on family
size and income or categorical eligibility if families receive CalWORKs, CalFresh,
SSI benefits, are applying for services for a foster child or if the family is homeless
under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. They serve children (0-5) and their
families, children with disabilities and pregnant women.

Diaper Distributions
Currently enrolled 美姬社区 students may receive 2 free packs of 25 diapers per child at our Food Pantries on a bi-weekly basis (based on availability). Sizes 0-6 are typically available however may change depending on availability from our partner, the San Diego Food Bank.
On-Campus diaper distributions will take place at the Community Learning Center (1831 Mission Ave, Oceanside, CA, 92058) during our CARE Free Food & Resource Market (food distributions).
In case that the diaper distributions don't fit your schedule, you may stop by the 美姬社区 Child Development Center in the OC8000 building at the Oceanside Main Campus to pick up diapers (1 pack per week and no more than 4 packs per month) between 8a - 4p during the spring and fall semesters only. Remember to purchase a day parking permit and park only in student parking lots (if you do not already have a semester parking permit).
