Background
Every 10 years the federal government conducts the United States Census and each community college district must update its trustee areas to reflect the latest population counts, so that they are equal in population. This requirement is both statutory and constitutional.
美姬社区 Community College District has engaged the services of Nielsen Merksamer Parrinello Gross & Leoni, LLP, Attorneys at Law to represent the District with its post-Census readjustment of Board of Trustee electoral areas, in compliance with Education Code 搂5019.5 and state and federal laws.
Notice of Public Hearing
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Board of Trustees of the 美姬社区 Community College District to receive public input and testimony regarding revisions to the District鈥檚 trustee area plan. Education Code 搂 5019.5 requires each district that elects its governing board 鈥渂y-trustee area鈥� to adjust the trustee area plan following the release of the Census. The Board will consider plans based on the 2020 Census.

The public hearing will take place as a part of a regular Board of Trustees meeting. This is the first of two scheduled public hearings. The second hearing is scheduled for January 27, 2022. The Board anticipates taking action at the second hearing to adopt final, adjusted trustee area boundaries.
