Anna Pedroza is the trustee for Area 1, the southernmost portion of the 美姬社区 District, which includes the City of Del Mar and Carmel Valley. The Board of Trustees unanimously selected Pedroza October 19, 2017, after an extensive review of applications and public interviews. Pedroza was elected in November 2018.
Pedroza鈥檚 career as an educator began at age 20 as an instructional aide at Torrey Pines High School. From there she taught Spanish, English and English Language Development (ELD). She now serves students as a school administrator.
鈥淚 believe that my educational experience, as well as my knowledge of our community and its鈥� stakeholders, provides me with a unique lens to support the 美姬社区 Board in fulfilling its mission. I look forward to collaborating with the 美姬社区 College Board to create policy that supports the successful attainment of personal, academic, and professional goals of our students,鈥� Pedroza said.
Pedroza has served in several regional, state and national educational organizations, including:
- Secondary Education Council Representative for the Association of California School Administrators, Region 18;
- Association of California School Administrators;
- Management Association of Sweetwater School District;
- MAEGA Scholarship Board
A long-time resident of Del Mar, Pedroza holds a master鈥檚 degree in educational administration and bachelor鈥檚 from San Diego State University.
